Plain answers to what happens to your information here. If anything is unclear, write to hello@thegentlebloom.com and ask.

Where it is kept

Everything is stored in Ireland, inside the European Union. That was chosen at the start and cannot be changed afterwards, so it is a promise rather than a current arrangement.

What the tools hold

The trackers record feeding, sleep and crying, and one of them is designed to be shown to a doctor. That sits close to health information about a baby, so it is treated more carefully than a name and an email address would be.

How long things are kept

A paid order
24 months
Your name and email on an order that was never paid
One year
What you write in a tool
12 months after you last change it, with a warning email 30 days before

After a year, an unpaid order keeps only its reference, its amount, what was on it and when it happened. Your name and email address are erased from it.

Why that year: payments here are made by bank transfer and matched by hand. A transfer sometimes arrives weeks late, or quotes the wrong reference, or quotes none at all. Keeping the order for a year is what lets a payment that turns up long afterwards be traced back to the person who made it, rather than sitting unexplained and undelivered. The reference is kept permanently, without your details attached to it, so that the same five characters are never given to anybody else.

Who else sees it

The Gentle Bloom is one person. These companies handle parts of the work and see only what that part needs.

Resend, which sends the emails, is based in the United States, so an email about your order and the records of it being sent are handled outside the European Union.

Card details

None are ever asked for. Payment is a transfer you make from inside your own banking app, so no card number, account number or password of yours is typed into this site at any point.

Still to be written

Your rights over this information, how to ask for a copy or a deletion, the lawful basis for each use, and the terms of sale. Camille is writing these. Until they are here, write to hello@thegentlebloom.com with any request and it will be dealt with by hand.
